Have your Apple ID and iCloud been blocked because you entered the wrong password too many times? Follow these steps to remove such an iCloud lock.
Remove an iCloud lock: this is how you do it
If you enter your Apple ID password incorrectly too many times or answer security questions incorrectly, your account will be automatically locked. Annoying, because you can no longer download apps and you cannot access your iCloud. The block is also called iCloud lock and fortunately something can be done about it.
As soon as the block occurs, the message ‘This Apple ID has been blocked for security reasons’ will appear on your screen. The only option at that point is to recover your account via iForgot. This is an Apple website specially made to remove iCloud lock. If you use two-step verification, you need a trusted device to enter the code that appears on it.

This is how you remove the blockage
- Go to iforgot.apple.com, enter your iCloud account email address and click Continue;
- If two-step verification is on, enter the code here;
- Choose a new password and confirm it;
- Reset your password.
Account recovery
For the above steps, you do need a trusted device or a phone number that you have specified as trusted in the past. If you don’t have these, you can use account recovery.
Keep in mind that this will take longer than simply resetting your password. To do this, enter the telephone number on which you will receive a text message. Apple then sends a verification code to verify that the information is correct. Apple will then contact you to let you know that your account is ready to be restored.
