If you would like to use your iPhone for longer, it is a good idea to replace the battery over time. This is because the maximum capacity of the battery decreases during use.
In the past it has been shown that the performance of the device improves after replacing the battery. Apple naturally recommends having the iPhone battery replaced by them or by one Apple Authorized Service Provider. These prices have increased since September 13, 2024.
iPhone battery replacement prices
The exact cost of a replacement depends on the iPhone device you own. For example, you pay more for an iPhone with Face ID than for a device with a home button (Touch ID). Below is an overview of the new prices since September 13, 2024.
- iPhone 16 Pro (Max): €135
- iPhone 14 (Pro), iPhone 15 (Pro), iPhone 16 (Plus): €109

- iPhone SE, iPhone 8 or older: €79

Check iPhone battery status
As a user, you can quite easily check the status of your iPhone battery to find out its maximum capacity and peak performance.
As the battery ages it will no longer be able to fully charge. As the capacity decreases, you will notice that the battery life is shortened. This isn’t a disaster at first, but over time it can be disruptive and limit peak performance.
- Open Settings
- Navigate to ‘Battery’
- Tap ‘Battery Condition’
At the option Maximum capacity you can see the full capacity of the iPhone battery. A new iPhone has 100%, but as you use the iPhone the battery becomes ‘weaker’ and will no longer be able to use its full capacity.
Replace iPhone battery
You can have the iPhone battery replaced in an Apple Store via the Genius Bar, via a Apple Authorized Service Provider or by sending your device to Apple after contacting us via the online support page.
If you have the battery replaced in an Apple Store or via a Service Provider, you will often have your device back within a few hours or this can even be done on site. If you send it in, it will last longer.
