We review and introduce to you the best 5 watches with price under 2,000 EUR.
Junghans Meister Calendar
Let’s start the list of these watches with a well-known, classic model with a new look: the Junghans Meister Calendar. Junghans describes the look of the Meister Calendar as “Italian chic”. There is very little to object to, because the 40 mm large and only 12 mm high watch combines a dark blue dial with a cognac-colored leather strap, which will surely appeal to stylish gentlemen. The Meister line has stood for simple, reduced-design dials and fine lines since 1930. This model realizes the trend towards blue dials. Inside the automatic movement J800.3 works on the basis of Sellita with a 38-hour power reserve, calendar module from Dubois-Dépraz with date, weekday and month. For 1,990 euros you are the owner of a watch that is more elegant, absolutely suitable for everyday use and offers fashionable contemporaries plenty of scope.
Sinn 104 St SA AG
Another German manufacturer, on the other hand, uses the trend color green. With the 104 St SA AG limited to 500 pieces, Sinn sends one of his most popular models in the race. The green shimmering dial of the 41 mm pilot watch was definitely one of the refreshing designs of the fair. Inside the polished stainless steel case, an ETA 2836-2 does its job quietly and solidly as usual with a second stop. As it should be for a pilot’s watch, the focus is on the pure time display. The pilot’s rotating ring with a minute click allows the watch to be recognized as a tool watch at first glance and shows the character of the Sinn brand. The contrast to the metallic green dial makes the watch appear both fashionable and lively, which cleverly balances the robustness and practicality. As is typical of Sinn, we also have a choice of many different leather straps from alligator to Alcantara and two stainless steel strap variants. Price of Sinn 104 St SA AG with a leather strap is from 1,250 euros .
Seiko Presage SPB 093
Porcelain, also called white gold, stands for elegance, timelessness and quality. The path from these three properties to Seiko, the unofficial king of the price-performance ratio (in the watch context) is not far away. With the SPB 093, Seiko once again manages to bring a watch to the market that can only inspire with its elegance and obvious quality. The highlight of the 40 mm watch is the dial made of Arita porcelain, named after the Japanese city of Arita, which is known for its porcelain manufacture. The great advantage of this porcelain version is its hardness (four times harder than conventional porcelain, according to Seiko) and flexibility at the same time. With other brands, this courage to use complex manufacturing processes and manual know-how would be a surprise. Not so with Seiko! For this, the brand is loved and bought by its fans. The automatic caliber 6R27 performs its services reliably and is already known from previous versions of the Presage. As a feature, it offers a pointer date and a display of the power reserve. The price of this model of the Presage line is $1,900. This price will probably also be expected in euros.
Monta Atlas GMT
Indie brands tried again this year to stand out among the established, traditional brands. In our opinion, the American brand Monta was particularly successful with the Atlas GMT. Why? The Monta Atlas GMT is modern, functional and offers high quality for, in this case, $1,700 for the “premium version” with a stainless steel bracelet. With its robust stainless steel housing, the Atlas GMT makes it clear from the start that its primary concern is functionality. But Monta manages to give the watch its own character through the different “finish” of the case, instead of leaning too much on existing designs. On the wrist, the sunburst-like finish of the bezel is particularly attractive to the eye. The watch sits extremely well on the wrist, which may be due to the 38.5 mm case. Monta offers the Atlas GMT with a white, blue or black dial. All three leaves also have a modern and sporty look thanks to the GMT pointer and the colored applications above the indexes. Technically, Monta doesn’t want to compromise either and relies on a Sellita SW330 with a 42-hour power reserve.
Oris Aquis Date (39.5 mm)
Oris is always a hot candidate for watches in this price range – especially diving watches. Oris has changed nothing the functionality of the new Aquis Date and its excellent performance, even under water. But what is new is the (who would have guessed) green dial and the more practical size at 39.5 mm, at least for a lot of wrists. In the light (already in artificial light at the trade fair), the dial of the Aquis Date with a sunburst finish shimmers in the middle dark green and becomes a little brighter on the outside – very nice to look at and makes the otherwise rather robust watch look a little more chic. Perfectly suited for the days when it is not a matter of using the water, but rather relaxing on the beach. Still striking? The bezel. Oris supplies these in green and ceramic instead of typically in black. Otherwise, this variant remains with the water resistance of 300 m and caliber 733 (based on a Sellita SW 200-1). With a price of 1,650 euros with leather or rubber strap and 1,850 euros with stainless steel strap, the Aquis Date in this list is certainly a good choice for fans of diving watches.
