The new Arlo Go2 is a 100% wireless security camera that is very useful in locations where no power and/or WiFi is available.

This is due to the large battery of 13000mAh and the 3G/4G connection via a SIM card.
The camera is larger than we are used to and that is because of the large battery. Internally there is a nano slot for a 3G/4GLTE data SIM and a slot for a micro SD card (max. 2 TB) for local image storage. The camera is suitable for indoor use, but primarily for outdoor use and can be placed or otherwise secured with the supplied foot. It has 1080p FHD recording technology with two-way audio, infrared night vision and a 4-LED spotlight. An 80dB camera alarm siren can be activated automatically or manually.
Setup is easy through the Arlo app. Optionally, a micro SD card can be placed, which is then standard for image storage, but without intelligence, so only live streaming and motion notifications. If a Wi-Fi network is available, it will be used; otherwise 4G (LTE) will become active as a backup if you insert a (KPN or Vodafone) SIM card. Read about extra functions and subscription types in our online review.
The 130-degree image looks good: particularly clear during the day and reasonable at night with IR in black and white. Due to the strong compression, the images allow little enlargement and then lack detail. The spotlight provides extra light when detected and enables color shots at night.
