Haven turns your Android device into an almost full-fledged security camera.

Review Haven: Turn your Android device into a security camera

The innovative app uses the device’s various sensors, such as motion, sound, vibration and light, to activate security. The camera starts shooting as soon as one of the sensors gives a signal. You can determine the threshold value per sensor, for example for triggering when you hear a sound. This way you prevent the camera from being activated without you wanting to.

The images taken by the camera are saved on the local device. These can be image and sound recordings. At the same time, the device can send a notification to the owner. This was previously possible via SMS, but unfortunately this no longer works due to adjustments on the part of Google. Notifications via the Signal app (a competitor of WhatsApp, among others) are still possible.

Unfortunately, the app is not (yet) available for iOS. Although the makers don’t state the reason, it probably has to do with the way that platform is built (and protected).
