Ultra wide curved or super-wide curved screens are developed specifically for gamers, so that they are included in the environment in which they play the game. This model has an R1500 bend, which is approximately equal to the curve of the human eye.

The screen is a VA screen. That stands for Vertical Alignment and lies between TN and IPS in terms of price and technology. VA screens have better colors and viewing angles than TN screens, but they are not as good as a screen with IPS technology. An important advantage of a VA screen is the good contrast.

The matte screen of the GB3467WQSU measures 34 inches and has a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels. That is an aspect ratio of 21:9. The color coverage is 100 percent sRGB. The screen is encased in a black housing and equipped with a wide foot to promote the stability of this 81cm wide screen. Further technical specifications are: a very short pixel build-up time of 0.4ms and a dynamic refresh rate of 48 to a maximum of 165Hz. The dynamic image refresh must be controlled by a graphics controller that supports Freesync. The monitor supports Freesync Premium, which better suppresses flickering and tearing of the image. The maximum brightness is 550nits, so that this screen can also be used with the HDR variant HDR400.

Connections
Connecting the monitor to one or more computers is possible via four connectors at the bottom left: 2 x HDM2.0 (100fps) and 2 x DisplayPort 1.4 (165fps). There is also a USB3.0 hub with 4 x USB-A 5Gbps ports. The hub is powered from a USB-B connector on the monitor with a cable to a USB-3 port on the computer. There is also a 3.5mm jack for external audio input. The two built-in speakers produce a somewhat meager sound. The base includes a hole for cable routing. The power, USB, HDMI and DP cables are included.

Ergonomic features consist of being able to place it in height over 13cm, whereby the total height of the monitor can vary between 44 and 57cm. In addition, the screen can tilt for optimal viewing adjustment for the user. Swivel on the stand and vertical placement are not available due to the size of the screen.

In practice
The OSD (On Screen Display) settings are operated differently than we are used to from Iiyama and now consist of a joystick and four buttons (input, volume +/- and power) at the back right. The joystick has multiple functions, which makes it not as easy to operate as we expected. It takes a while to understand how it works. In the menu we find a wide range of settings including blue light filter, black tunerfunction and presets for games.

The power supply is built into the screen, so that a mains voltage cable is not required power block is used. The typical consumption of this monitor is 66W and 0.5W in standby.

In practice, we see an image with good contrast, brightness and correct colors. Because it is a curved screen, the viewing angle requires extra attention. You have to sit straight in front of the screen with adjusted tilt for optimal results. When looking from the side, you see the image graying fairly quickly. HDR400 is an enrichment for the image. In the standard SDR mode, we had to adjust the image for optimal viewing.

In summary: a richly equipped gaming monitor with excellent specifications for a good price.
