Technology
The Matte 34 ”VA screen offers a sharp and productive resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels (21: 9) and has a 1500R curve for a compelling viewing experience. With a brightness up to 350 nits, it is great for indoor use. On the back of the monitor there are two 5W speakers with a modest sound quality – external speakers or headphones are appreciated by many.
A striking addition is the 5.2MP webcam at the top of the screen. This offers a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, autofocus, a built-in microphone and a privacy slide. The webcam delivers a sharp image for video conferences and is Windows Hello-compatible, which makes it possible to log in at lightning speed.
Ergonomic facilities and settings
The screen is firmly on a rotating base and is adjustable up to 15 cm in height, so that it protrudes above a possible laptop for an ergonomic working posture. In addition, the screen can be tilted for optimum vision. Due to the wide dimensions, a pivot function (vertical places) is not possible. A VESA coupling of 10 cm is available for wall mounting.
The on-screen display (OSD) operation works via a mini-joystick under the screen and offers an intuitive user experience. Among the many settings are: webcam activation; Blue light reduction to reduce eye fatigue and KVM control for circuit between systems.
Practice test
Working with this large, wide screen is very pleasant. The curved shape contributes to an intensive viewing experience, especially with gaming. The VA panel remains an excellent choice for general use and gaming, although it is less suitable for professional color-critical work. The screen consumes around 55 watts, and the price is attractive given the extensive functionalities.
