Recently, the second generation of the popular and very affordable Astro Gaming 10 headset appeared, which can be used with a Windows computer, Mac, XBOX, PlayStation 4/5 and Nintendo Switch. Especially the wearing comfort and the sound quality have been improved with this model. The headset is wired so there is no sound delay. Noise reduction cannot be offered in this price range. The two meter long connection cable for a combi 3.5mm plug is equipped with a volume control. In addition, a 15 cm long adapter cable is included for separate audio inputs and outputs.
The headset is made entirely of plastic and is therefore light in weight (245 g) and very flexible. The ear pads are a bit small, but fit over the ears. They close well with the soft filling and fabric and can be replaced if necessary. Due to the sliding mechanism, the shells are seamless and easily adjustable. The headset is also easy to wear for a longer period of time and stays in place with some violent movements.
The reproduced sound is particularly good for this price range, also for music. The frequency range of the microphone is limited for clear speech. The microphone is attached to a flexible arm on the left shell and is muted by turning. A nice headset for a nice price.
