Samsung is very satisfied with the sale of its Galaxy S22 top devices and the Tab S8 tablets. More than twice as many pre-orders have been placed for the Galaxy S22 compared to the previous generation, Samsung says.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Sale
The Samsung Galaxy S22 series appeared on the scene on February 9 and our extensive review of the Galaxy S22 Ultra appeared on Thursday. The phones have had a pre-order period since Friday and Samsung looks back with satisfaction in a blog post†
According to the manufacturer, the Ultra version was particularly popular during pre-orders. “The Galaxy S22 series sold more than twice as much as the S21 series during pre-orders, with 60 percent of the sales coming from the Galaxy S21 Ultra,” the blog post reads. When a manufacturer makes such statements, we should also be aware that he is doing so to further boost sales, but we do see that some variants are not in stock in certain Dutch stores.
Samsung is also satisfied with the sale of the Galaxy Tab S8 series that consists of three tablets this year. The brand also notes a doubling in sales for those devices, and the Ultra version accounts for 50 percent of the pre-orders placed.
Win ground on Apple
Strong sales of its flagships would be an important step for Samsung, as since last year the Galaxy S series has lost significant ground compared to Apple’s iPhones. According to the first signals, it seems Samsung has made a good move to integrate the Note series as a Galaxy S22 Ultra, while the series with the S Pen made way for foldables. The foldable Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 also managed to provide favorable sales figures in recent months, Samsung claimed.
