Samsung Galaxy S22 will get a Snapdragon processor in more countries

More and more reports are coming out that Samsung will equip its Galaxy S22 series with a Qualcomm processor in multiple regions. Samsung’s own Exynos 2200 would be used much less than in previous years.

Samsung Galaxy S22 gets a Snapdragon processor in Korea

Samsung equips its top phones with two different chipsets every year, its own Exynos processor in Europe and Qualcomm’s alternative in other countries such as the United States. That distribution will be skewed with the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy S22. The South Korean manufacturer would, according to information from Super Roader, an ex-Samsung employee, bet more on the Qualcomm chipset. The worldwide chip shortage would be the reason for this.

The above rumor is now reinforced by a report from South Korean news medium Naver, discovered LetsGoDigital: “The usually well-informed website reports having checked the information from multiple sources and comes to the same conclusion.” However, Samsung would provide a number of Galaxy S22 phones in Europe with the Exynos 2200 chipset. This is probably due to special contracts with providers.

Samsung has not confirmed these rumors. Super Roader still believes that the global chip shortage is the reason to equip more Galaxy S22 phones with Qualcomm’s top chipset. That will be the Snapdragon 989, Qualcomm’s upcoming high-end processor.
