Samsung Galaxy Tab A8: bigger screen, more powerful and better performance for 229 euros

Samsung has launched the new Galaxy Tab A8 tablet. This new tablet has a 10.5-inch screen, Samsung’s KNOX security and the option to work with a split screen. Like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, the Tab A8 partners with YouTube to offer users who don’t already have YouTube Premium it for free. This allows them to watch videos for free without ads. Where this is free for three months with the Tab S6 Lite, it is two months with the Tab A8.

Design and housing
The Galaxy Tab A8 has a 10.5-inch screen and weighs 508 grams. The display has a symmetrical border of only 10.2 mm. The Tab A8 is equipped with a metal housing with a profile of 6.99 mm. Furthermore, the Tab A8 has a resolution of 1920 x 1200, a 16:10 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio of 80%. At the bottom of the tablet you will find the USB 2.0 connection, this Tab A8 is also equipped with a quad speaker with Dolby Atmos sound for optimal sound and runs on Android 11.

Processor, Memory and Battery
The performance of the CPU and GPU of the Tab A8 has increased by 10 percent compared to its predecessor Galaxy Tab A7 2020. This Tab A8 is equipped with an Octa-Core 2GHz processor and also with a large storage with the choice of 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB, which is new to the Tab A series. There is also an option for an expandable micro-SD card that ensures that you can go up to 1 TB, which is a lot more than the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1. Furthermore, the Tab A8 is available with 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM. With 3 GB of RAM it is only possible to have 32 GB storage memory, with 4 GB RAM it is possible to choose whether you want to have 64 GB or 128 GB storage memory. You can use the Tab A8 for hours thanks to the 7040 mAH battery, charging can be done via the included 7.75 watt charger. A 15 W fast charger is optionally available.

Security
The Galaxy Tab A8 is also equipped with Samsung’s Knox security. Samsung KNOX is a security system in the form of an app that easily keeps work and private life separate on one phone. Samsung KNOX, for example, protects company data on your mobile phone. In terms of security, you can unlock your phone by using facial recognition

Education
The Galaxy Tab A8 ensures that as a parent you can keep an eye on your child while they are busy with accessible functions. This is combined with educational content that motivates children to learn.

Split screen
It is possible to work with a split screen with the new Galaxy Tab A8. You do this by dragging a link from your current window to the side, so that the option Drag & Split to appear. A second window will then open. Now, for example, you can choose and play music on one window, while you’re working on the other window.

Camera‘s
The Galaxy Tab A8 has two cameras, one on the front and one on the back. The front camera is a 5 MP camera and on the back you will find an 8 MP camera.
It is possible to record your screen or yourself with image and sound by means of Screen Recorder. It is useful to know that when you are making a screen video, you can easily copy and paste it from your Tab A8 to your Galaxy smartphone.

Price and availability
The Galaxy Tab A8 will be available from the end of December 2021 in the colors Gray, Silver and Pink Gold for a suggested retail price of € 229.
