Samsung launches website to convince iPhone users

Samsung has created a website that allows iPhone users to get to know South Korean phones without buying one. Samsung iTest works like this.

Samsung iTest seduces iPhone users

Samsung and Apple are arch rivals. The former is head and shoulders the largest manufacturer of Android smartphones and is best known for the Galaxy series.

A big difference between the two brands is software. Samsung phones run on One UI, a modified version of Android, while the iPhone relies on iOS. The South Korean producer is therefore now trying to convince iPhone users with a new website.

Do you want to experience what a Samsung Galaxy smartphone feels like on your iPhone? That is how it works:

  1. Grab your iPhone and go to the Samsung iTest website (or scan the QR code below);

  2. Add the website to your iPhone home screen by tapping the arrow with the upward icon at the bottom of Safari;

  3. Then open the Samsung ‘app’.

Then you can experience what it is like to have a Samsung Galaxy smartphone on an iPhone. The ‘app’ (which is actually a website) takes over your screen and shows what a Samsung looks like. Among other things, the app icons, home screen layout, folders and background will be changed.

Samsung iTest has its limitations. For example, it is not possible to check an overview of all your apps in Android style. Some areas are also shielded. For example, when you press the folder with social media apps on the Samsung home screen, you will see an explanation about folder management on Android instead of the apps themselves.

Complex relationship

The relationship between Apple and Samsung is complex. On the one hand, the companies are rivals, on the other hand they also need each other. Samsung, for example, supplies a lot of phone screens to Apple. Rumor has it that this will also be the case for the iPhone 13.

Which brand you prefer is very personal. Our Samsung Galaxy S21 and iPhone 12 comparison shows that the entry-level flagships are well matched in terms of specifications. The differences are also small in terms of camera. In the comparison below, we explained the two top models, the iPhone 12 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, next to each other.
