Today is a big day for Samsung owners who love to try out the very latest software. Samsung’s One UI 4.0 software has left the beta program to be rolled out to all Galaxy S21 series worldwide.
Samsung Galaxy S21 Android 12
Samsung started its beta program for the Galaxy S21 lineup in mid-September and that program consisted of a number of firmware updates. Samsung aimed for a release of the stable version in 2021 and already hinted at the month of November. That deadline has now been met. Samsung has started the worldwide rollout of the Android 12 update to the Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra.
What’s new in Android 12 on Samsung phones?
Android 12 was officially announced by Google in October and Samsung has already shown its variant of this software in an extensive video. In the shell of software we see, among other things: Material You, the new Android 12 theme with dynamic colors based on your wallpaper. Samsung offers a large number of Color Palettes for this, so you can customize your smartphone: from the start screen to the icons, menus, buttons and background. The camera and gallery app are also getting new capabilities, along with many more features. In addition, there is a wider range of emoji, GIFs and stickers.
Samsung also comes with new widget recommendations and privacy features. According to Samsung, you decide exactly what you want to share, and what you keep private. From notifications when an app tries to use the camera or microphone to a new privacy dashboard that collects all settings in one place. One UI 4 makes monitoring and controlling your privacy settings easier.
When is the Netherlands’ turn?
Global in this case means that a number of regions are the first to act. Samsung’s One UI 4.0 shell will gradually reach more regions in the coming days and weeks, including the Netherlands and Belgium. Samsung indicates that One UI 4 will be available on the Galaxy S21 series from November 15. When exactly, we don’t know yet. We can expect the Android 12 update in the Netherlands in the fourth quarter anyway, Samsung previously confirmed to Androidworld.
The update is rolling out over-the-air to the Galaxy S21 series and once it’s in you’ll see a notification in the notification bar. You can also manually search for the update: Settings > Software update > Download and install.
