Send mail automatically at a later time in Gmail

Schedule an email with Gmail and automatically send the message at another time. Handy if you’re typing a message that doesn’t have to be sent until the next day or even later.

Sometimes it is more convenient to schedule an email to be sent at a different time. For example, a congratulations that shouldn’t arrive too early, or an important email that should arrive when a business is open.

With Gmail you don’t have to send written mails right away; you can indicate that an email should be sent at a different time. It works like this on the PC:

  • surf to www.gmail.com and log in.
  • Click on the plus sign at the top left.
  • Type the e-mail as usual, ie with a subject, a recipient and the like.
  • Click the small triangle next to ‘Send’ in the blue bar.
  • click on Schedule shipping.
  • There are three standard options: this afternoon at 1 pm, tomorrow morning at 8 am, or the week after that on Monday morning at 8 am. Is there a desired moment? Then click on it.
  • You can also schedule a time yourself. click on Choose date and time.
  • Click on the desired day in the calendar. The date appears on the right side of the window.
  • Select the default time and press Delete.
  • Enter the desired time of transmission in the form of 08:00, so hours:minutes.
  • click on Schedule shipping.

The message is sent at the set time. Do you still want to adjust the mail or choose a different sending time?

  • Click on the map in the left bar Planned.
  • The message is listed here. click on Send Cancel.
  • The message opens. Adjust the mail, choose a different sending time or delete the mail completely.
