Everyone who uses Safari and visits the internet slowly builds up a history, unless you surf privately. You can consult the history afterwards to visit that one website again and it is especially useful as a backup. When iCloud is active, history is synced between all your devices.
Would you like to delete parts of your browser history for any reason? Then you can also do this for a shorter period. For example, you can clear the history of the past hour.
View and delete Safari history
- Open Safari for iPhone or iPad
- Go to any website
- Activate the toolbar by swiping up on the screen
- Tap the book icon in the toolbar or sidebar
- Open the tab with the clock (history)
On a Mac, you can view the history by clicking ‘History’ in the Safari menu bar.
