Apple’s spam filter is currently not working quite as it should. Users complain about a lot of spam via iCloud. But what now?
Spam via iCloud: Apple cannot get the problem under control
A package waiting for you, a large lottery prize or a free iPhone: these are spam messages that increasingly end up in the mailbox. You may have noticed that Apple’s spam filter in iCloud no longer works properly.
Several iPhone owners have been complaining for more than a week about the large amount of spam that ends up in their mailbox. Normally, Apple’s spam filters ensure that most of this junk mail is thrown away, but something seems to be going wrong there.
Some of these messages are even specifically aimed at Apple users. The email warns about exceeding the iCloud storage limit. As a solution, free storage space is ‘given’. All you have to do is validate your Apple ID and credit card details.
Unfortunately, there isn’t much you can do about it at the moment and hope that Apple will fix the spam filters soon. The only thing you can do is pay close attention to where an email comes from. And when you are asked to log in, you should always be extra alert. Then throw away the spam emails immediately.
iCloud Mail does not recognize spam well
In any case, most email providers are not particularly good at recognizing malware. A study shows that they also hardly do their best to protect users. You can read more about this in the article below.
