Test the internet speed if you think the internet is too slow. It is nice to know whether your feeling is correct, especially if you have the idea that your provider does not offer the promised speed.
internet is slow
Slow internet is annoying. Especially if you just want to watch a movie or download large files. There are free meters on the web that tell you exactly how fast the internet is. Such a meter is also called a speed test. A slow connection can be due to the provider, but other factors, such as a poor WiFi connection at home, can also play a role. We explain what you can do about slow Wi-Fi in the tip ‘Resolve weak WiFi signal’. Below we will discuss different speedometers in more detail.
Measuring internet speed with Speedtest.nl
One of the best-known independent speedometers in the Netherlands is Speedtest.nl. Here people can easily measure download and upload speed. They can save the measurements for later comparison. It may take a while before the speed is measured. Finally, the results are shown on the right.
