The week is over and that means a fresh app overview is waiting for you! You should not miss out on these new apps, games and updates. The best iOS apps of week 29 can be found here.
The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store is working overtime every week to process the endless stream of new apps and updates. However, you hardly notice this, because only a small part is worth installing. If your iPhone or iPad could use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place for the best iOS apps.
1. Sky: Children of the Light
We’ve had a long wait for the iOS game Sky: Children of the Light. Apple already showed this during its keynote in September 2017, but now it can finally be downloaded in the App Store. You enter the beautifully designed world of Sky.
Here you are one of the ‘Children of the Light’ and you explore seven worlds. What is special is that the game focuses very much on the social aspect. During the game you will meet other users and you can also work together. This way you can set out together to search for treasures and endure dark worlds.
2. Mubic
Mubi is a movie app, but slightly different. Instead of a huge selection to choose from, there are 30 films daily selected by curators. It can be an award-winning Oscar film, a cult classic or a recently discovered gem. Moreover, you can download these movies to watch them offline or at a later time.
Downloading Mubi is free and after that you get a trial period of 7 days. If you like the app, you can take out a subscription of 9.99 euros per month. Is there nothing among the 30 films? Don’t worry, this is ultimately a filter of sorts. The app then always offers other options.
3. Mimo: Learning to Code
Are you curious what it’s like to code? The Mimo app teaches you the basics of coding in an accessible way. With a personal learning trajectory you can master programming languages such as HTML, JavaScript and Python and, for example, build your own game or app.
The app gives you small daily exercises so that you can do them regularly and also with a busy schedule. There is both a free version of Mimo, where you get a chapter of each skill, and a paid version where you complete a full course.
