The week is over and that means a fresh app overview is waiting for you! You should not miss out on these new apps, games and updates. The best iOS apps of week 17 can be found here.
The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store is working overtime every week to process the endless stream of new apps and updates. However, you hardly notice this, because only a small part is worth installing. If your iPhone or iPad could use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. Google Fit
Google Fit is now also available for iOS. The counterpart of Apple’s Health app helps you live a healthier and more active life. Google Fit has two pillars to measure your health: Exercise Minutes and Heart Points. The first is earned by taking the stairs and taking the dog for a walk.
You score heart points during activities that give you a higher heart rate. By granting access to data from the Health app, Google Fit also allows you to record workouts with your Apple Watch. The app tries to make you healthier by increasing the number of Exercise Minutes and Heart Points every so often.
2. Instagram
Instagram Stories are now at least as popular as the normal timeline, and Instagram has expanded its possibilities again with the quiz sticker. Where you can only let people choose from two answers with the already existing poll function, with the quiz function you can ask questions with a maximum of four answer options.
This way you can test your friends or followers by filling your stories with quiz questions. The nice thing about the quiz function is that users who answer the question can immediately see whether they have given the correct answer. You mark this correct answer yourself before the poll appears in your story.
3. Pathé All Stars
Film buffs who regularly go to a Pathé cinema can earn nice extras with the Pathé All Stars app. This app is the new rewards program of the cinema chain. With every cinema visit you receive points, Stars, for every euro you spend. You can exchange these in the online shop for free products and discounts on snacks, drinks and tickets.
Furthermore, there are regular exclusive promotions in the app where you can earn even more rewards. It pays extra as a Pathé Unlimited subscriber to use the app from the start, because the longer you are a subscriber, the more Stars you get.
4. Reeder 4
The RSS app Reeder has been completely revamped and with Reeder 4 brings a new way of reading. With an app like Reeder, you can scroll through all the news from your favorite sources at lightning speed. With Reeder 4, that becomes even easier, partly due to the Bionic Reading mode.
By showing first parts of boldface, your brain can finish the words faster so that you move through a text faster. Furthermore, the images have been improved and you can keep a reading list that syncs with iCloud.
