The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 24 (2018) here.
The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. NOS app
The NOS has completely updated its app especially for the World Championship. From the main menu you go to the World Cup 2018 section, where you will find almost everything about the tournament. You will find the latest news, the program and all results and videos with interviews and cool compilations. Moreover, the app has all kinds of fun facts, such as an overview with the oldest selections and smallest players who participate.
More importantly, you can follow all matches live on your iPhone or iPad with the NOS app. So you don’t have to miss anything and you can even catch a game on the train or bus, or if you are bored for a while. Also handy: images can be streamed directly to a Chromecast, so that you can also watch on your television.
2. Sweatcoin
Sweatcoin is the most popular app in the App Store at the time of writing. The makers promise to give users money when they walk outside. That sounds like a great deal: being healthy and being financially rewarded for it. You can see the app as a kind of pedometer that keeps track of your steps and converts them into Sweatcoins. These coins are not a cryptocurrency, but simply a made-up coin that you can exchange for stuff or real money in the app.
By walking outside you earn coins, provided you give the app access to your location. The return currently amounts to approximately 1 Sweatcoin per 1500 steps. There is a maximum number of Sweatcoin you can earn per day. If you have a normal membership, you may not accumulate more than 5 Sweatcoins per day, with a maximum of 150 Sweatcoins per month.
3. Ziggo Go
If you go to the ‘Movies & Series (XL)’ tab with the Ziggo Go app, you will now find an option to download a selection of films and series, so that they can be viewed later without an internet connection. Not all films and series can be downloaded and you can recognize the download option by a new button. To use the feature, you must first register your device via your Ziggo account.
At ‘Saved’ you will find all the movies and TV series that you have saved with your iOS device. From there you can immediately start watching, which can take up to 30 days after downloading. If you have watched the film or series, the file will be automatically deleted after two days. Even if Ziggo removes a film or series from its offer, watching is no longer possible.
4. AH Tech
Albert Heijn increasingly has collectibles that are not only fun, but also educational. This also includes special apps, such as previously the AH Vegetable Garden or AH Dino’s app. This month is all about technology with AH Tech. This promotion is held in collaboration with the NEMO science museum. Children can get all kinds of information about technological innovations in a collection book and via YouTube videos.
The AH Tech app introduces you to Techie, the face of this new savings campaign. It is a robot that you can program yourself. Techie puts you in the real world via augmented reality, so you can take photos and videos. You can also take a selfie in the app, so Techie wears your face. You use AH Tech by pressing the scan button in the app and pointing your camera at a Tech image. Techie then appears above the picture.
