The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! You should not miss out on these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 3 here.
The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part is worth installing. If your iPhone or iPad can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. Ever
Journalist Niels ‘t Hooft has created a new app that rethinks the way of reading on a smartphone and tablet. By looking at the pros and cons of these devices when it comes to reading books, Immer takes a slightly different approach than we are used to.
Books are entered in a special way in the app, so that paragraphs don’t just break when your screen is full. Instead, careful thought has gone into when a piece of text breaks down and moves to the next page. Moreover, in this way the tension that the writer had in mind with the page layout of a paper book remains intact. You can easily browse by tapping the screen.
2. YouTube
After Instagram and Tinder, you can now also swipe through YouTube. A swipe to the right will take you while watching the next video, while a swipe to the left will take you to the previous video. YouTube is trying to make it easier to find fun content with the new update.
While swiping, YouTube remembers where you left off, so that you can immediately continue watching. The videos you will see are from your ‘Recommended’ list. This playlist is compiled based on your viewing history and which videos you like.
3. Battelands Royale
For those who have had enough of the big names, Battlelands Royale is a refreshing battle royale. Battlelands Royale has been available for a number of months, but has had a major update not long ago, making the gameplay smoother, more extensive and more imaginative.
Nice is that the map you play on is very diverse, and in some areas it feels like you are playing a minigame. For example, if you end up in the maze, or the old barracks near the train tracks where you have to outsmart other players. In addition, you will encounter funny details, such as sushi, fish or steaks as flags and obstacles of the weirdest objects.
4. Everyday Habit Tracker
To make something a habit, you actually have to do something about it every day. That is also the motto of the developer of the Everyday app; work on your new habits every day, because then you will succeed. The app therefore helps you in a very simple but effective way to maintain that.
All you have to do is fill in your goals and indicate whether you want to learn this as a habit, or if you want to stop it. For each goal you can then check per day whether you have worked on it that day. What follows is a schedule full of colors that show how well you are doing.
