The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! In our opinion, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 42 here.
The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. You don’t notice that much, however, because only a fraction of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. WhatsApp
WhatsApp already had the option to share your location with contacts, but this was a fixed place where you were at that time. By sharing your live location, you can also show where you are when, for example, you are in a moving car or train. You indicate how long your location will remain visible to others. You can choose from 15 minutes, an hour or even eight hours. Others see where you are on a map during that period.

2. Nude
Taking and sending nude photos with a smartphone is nowadays the most normal thing in the world. What not everyone thinks about, however, is the safety behind this. Both what the recipient does with the photos, and whether someone accidentally sees the photos on your phone. The Nude app cleverly responds to this by automatically putting your sensitive photos under lock and key. There are several apps that let you lock photos, but Nude stands out for its use of artificial intelligence.

3. Google Photos
It is now possible to recognize not only people in photos, but also animals. Previously, photos you took of pets could only be found by searching for ‘dog’ or ‘cat’, for example. But from now on, animals can be found much more specifically. The app bundles the photos of pets in one place. Then you can label different pets yourself to find them again. This way you organize photo albums and find your pet faster.

4. CastBox
If you like to listen to podcasts, it is sometimes useful to ‘jump’ to a particular part of a podcast that interests you the most. The problem is that audio files are not as easy to search as, say, a website, but CastBox wants to help you with this. By means of artificial intelligence, the app lets you search (in English) for certain keywords or topics. Based on this, CastBox gives (parts of) suggestions of podcasts that you may find interesting.
