The new week is just around the corner, but before that, let’s take a look back at the last seven days. The editors of iPhoned has rounded up the best iOS apps, games and updates from last week.
Last week’s 5 best iOS apps
The App Store is working overtime every week. New apps, updates for existing programs and games are added all the time. You probably don’t notice this much, because most of it is not worth downloading. iPhoned therefore separate the wheat from the chaff every Sunday. Here are this week’s best iOS apps, updates, and games.
1. Google Duo
Google’s video calling app has been updated. From now on it is possible to have a group conversation with twelve people at the same time. Previously, the maximum number was ‘only’ eight.

Many people are confined to their homes due to the coronavirus. Video calling is then the best way to talk to colleagues or friends. By expanding the maximum number, Google Duo is responding to the demand for video calling in larger groups.

2. Apple Music
Apple Music has also had an app update. From now on, new albums, EPs and videos from your favorite artists can be featured at the top of your library. Tapping on the notification will take you directly to the new album or new single.

Unfortunately, it is not yet possible to specify from which artists you want to receive these updates. You turn on the notifications by tapping your profile picture under ‘For you’. Under Notifications, turn on ‘Show in library’.
3. Google Podcasts
Google has released a new iOS app: Google Podcasts. This allows you to listen to all your favorite podcasts that you can subscribe to for free. This fairly simple app is purely for podcasts and works very intuitively. The app has a simple structure and basically consists of three tabs.

The first is your home screen, where you’ll see all the podcasts you’ve subscribed to. On the far right you will see the ‘Activity’ tab. Here you’ll see the episodes you’ve queued, your downloads, listening history, and subscriptions. It is also possible to listen offline or to queue different episodes.
4. Game of Thrones Beyond the Wall
Game of Thrones fans pay attention: in this new game you will battle the dark enemies north of the wall. Recruit members of the Night’s Watch to fight the Wildlings together.
The game is set way before the time when Ned Stark was King of the North. Through the magical Weirwood trees, let Jon Snow or Daenerys Targaryen help you on your adventure. Slowly but surely you find out what happened to the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.
5. Respawnable Heroes
In this shooter game you compete in teams of four. You can choose from a large assortment of Heroes. Of course, each hero has his own fighting style. The nice thing about this colorful game is that you play in teams and get better and better at it.
A number of versions have already preceded these new Respawnables Heroes, but that doesn’t make this new game any less fun. The app is also regularly updated with new maps and characters.
