The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 4 (2018) here.
The 5 best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. Thumper: Pocket Edition
In Thumper, you are a space beetle racing a track. To the rhythm of the penetrating music you have to react to various obstacles on that track. With a lit block you have to press the screen at the right time, for a turn you have to swipe one way and to jump you have to swipe up. That sounds simple, but appearances can be deceiving.
You go over that track in a fast speed. The blocks, curves and obstacles are placed right behind each other and then there are also the different bosses per level that you defeat by making no mistakes. You have to focus so well while playing that the world around you disappears and time passes unnoticed. Thumper: Pocket Edition is therefore ideal for, for example, on the train.

2. Vaulteq
Vaulteq is a relatively new, Dutch password manager for iOS. The service works on iOS and your Mac and has the big difference with the other apps in this list that your data is stored in the Netherlands. Because the servers with your login details are located within national borders, they also fall under Dutch law.
You can secure Vaulteq with a master password and Touch ID, so you can log in quickly and securely. If you want to access your safe on multiple devices and use a browser extension, you can upgrade to Vaulteq Premium for 2.99 euros per month.

3. Gymatic
Gymatic is a strength sports app that can automatically keep track of what exercises you do by using the sensors of your iPhone. Your Apple Watch can also be used for this. For example, you can see how consistently you do a certain exercise and how long you usually rest between repetitions. The app can automatically track your existing routine, but can also help you discover new workouts.
The technology behind the app to recognize the different exercises is still under development. So it may be that the app does not always recognize what you are doing. Still, it’s worth giving the app a try, especially if you often forget to keep track of exactly what you’ve trained.

4. Moodnotes
Everyone has a bad day from time to time, but it only becomes a problem when you have more negative than positive days. With Moodnotes you get a nice insight into this. By indicating how you feel every day, the app compiles a detailed profile that provides insight into the way you organize your life. The new year is still young, and this is a great opportunity to make your days better.

5. Daily Yoga
For your daily yoga session, Daily Yoga is a fantastic option. The app lets you know every day when it’s time to get started and helps you improve without straining your body. The app has a bunch of different series to follow such as ‘Beginners to Masters’, ‘Getting Toned’ and ‘Health Enhancer’. Such a series consists of several days with new poses that are explained with clear videos. There are also separate sessions to learn the basics of breathing or to increase your flexibility, for example.
A nice part of the app is the community. Among other things, other app users post photos of their progress here and challenges are started. New content is also added to the app every month so that there is regularly something new to learn. The free version of the app is sufficient for beginners, but after that you need a subscription. This is possible per year for 3.33 euros per month.
