It’s Sunday again and that means it’s time for an overview of the best apps, games and updates. These are the best iOS apps from week 40 of 2019.
Last week’s 5 best iOS apps
The App Store is working overtime every week. New apps, updates to existing programs and games are constantly being added. You probably don’t notice this much, because most of it is not worth downloading. iPhoned therefore separate the wheat from the chaff every Sunday. Here are this week’s best iOS apps, updates, and games.
1. Stoptober
The annual Stoptober started again on 1 October. This is the month in which smokers worldwide try to put out the cigarette for good. The Stoptober app for iOS lends you a helping hand to reduce your cigarette cravings.
The Stoptober app plays an important role in guiding ex-smokers through the month. The application does this in different ways. This way you indicate every day whether you are still smoke-free, and you receive motivational messages that show the benefits of a life without cigarettes.
2. Inbento
If you feel like relaxing with a simple game on a lazy Sunday afternoon, Inbento is the place to be. In this adorable puzzle game, you are a mother cat who makes lunches for her kitten. This is done in a typical Japanese style, with rice, fish, seaweed and more. Your goal is to create a specific end product in each puzzle with the ingredients you have. That is fun to do and as a reward you also get a cute story in between.
The game looks simple, but it is a real culinary brain teaser. You have to place ingredients in a lunch box of 3 by 3 boxes. Each ingredient is 1 square. Some pieces need to be rotated or moved before they fit. The further you get in the game, the harder it gets.
3. Football Drama
Recently, the game Football Drama was also released. In the plethora of football games on the market, Football Drama does things differently. In this game you have to help a club get back on its feet. You do that in two ways. First of all, of course, there are the football matches. You choose whether your team takes it easy or takes risks, and by playing tactical cards you gain the advantage. But also off the field you have to make choices in conversations that influence the future of you and your team.

You play as the football manager with a dark past. After a break of 7 years you will return to work as a coach. While trying to play back to the top with your team, you will encounter various obstacles from your past. You have to make the right decisions in order to win success again. It’s something different again.
4. Call of Duty Mobile
On October 1, the mobile version of the shooter game Call of Duty was released in the Netherlands. The series has been one of the most popular game series for consoles and PC for quite some time now. This new mobile version, which combines all kinds of levels and characters from the series, was until now only available in China. There the game is a great success. Now it’s the rest of the world’s turn.
In Call of Duty: Mobile the focus is on multiplayer, although that could change later with new additions. With two teams you compete against each other to see who gets the target number of kills first. Other modes will also be unlocked quickly. If you are level 7, you can unlock the Battle Royale mode, for example, in which you end up in the same level with up to a hundred players and have to be the last one to remain.
5. Halide
One of the most popular camera apps from the App Store is ready for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Halide has released an update that makes it easier to use the various camera sensors of this trio. The new ‘Lens Switcher’ works very intuitively.

You press the lens button at the bottom right, and then select from the menu whether you want to use the 0.5x, 1x or 2x lens. That way you don’t have to press the button several times to switch from the telephoto lens to the ultra-wide-angle lens, for example. From now on Halide also gives feedback while taking photos. The app advises you, among other things, on selecting the right depth.
