The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 45 here.
The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. Apollo
Several developers have made bold efforts to make a good Reddit app. Baconreader, for example, is a very nice attempt and at the end of 2016 an official app finally appeared, which is fine. However, these apps are blown over by Apollo, made by an ex Apple employee.
In terms of design, Apollo really feels at home on an iPhone. The app is modern and sleek, without too many distractions. If you scroll, you will see beautiful images with clear titles in the large mode. Below that you can see how long ago it was posted, how many comments there are and how many points the post has. With the arrows at the bottom right you can give an upvote or a downvote. A compact mode is also possible for a better overview.

2. Focus
Focus is one of our favorite productivity apps and helps you get more done in the same time. The app helps you to work in a concentrated manner in short periods of time. For example, the app reminds you every 25 minutes to take a short break of five minutes, and a longer break after four of these sessions.
The app also helps you keep a to-do list, focusing on one task at a time. At the end of the month you can see how productive you have been, because the app compiles an overview of your time for you. You can also use Focus on your Mac or Apple Watch. The latest update also adds support for the iPhone X.

3. Afterlight 2
Afterlight, the popular photo app for iOS, has been updated to celebrate its fifth anniversary. Afterlight 2 builds on the original app, but adds a new design to make the app easier to use. In addition, new options for typography have been added, and working with layers has become more intuitive, according to the makers.
Afterlight 2 is not free, but for around three euros you can buy the full app right away, without the need for in-app purchases. For that price you also get access to ready-made designs from the creators of the app, which you can use in your own images.

4. South Park: Phone Destroyer
South Park: Phone Destroyer brings the characters from the eponymous series to your iPhone or iPad. The game includes a completely new story to play through, where you will see different characters and enemies from the series pass by. By defeating enemies you get coins, with which you can earn cards. Those cards are equal to characters, which you can then use in battles.
If you are a fan of previous South Park games, such as The Stick of Truth, Phone Destroyer is a must-have for you. Note that the game is free, but offers in-app purchases to unlock new cards with characters faster.

5. Clips
Clips, Apple’s simple video app, is less than a year out, but it has just received its first major update. Version 2.0 includes some cool new features, including Selfie Scenes for the iPhone X. For example, you can use the TrueDepth camera to take a selfie in a different world, choosing from different environments. You can also apply new stickers, filters and other effects to your image.
According to Apple, Clips is a simple, easy-to-use way to make fun videos. This still applies to version 2.0, thanks to the four new tabs at the bottom of the screen. Version 2.0 now also has iCloud support, so your work can be shared between different devices.
