The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 51 here.
The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. Gorogoa
We’ve already had some great puzzle games this year, such as the amazing The Witness. But when we talk about puzzle games made for a touchscreen, Gorogoa is our new favorite. The game is original, beautiful, intelligent and something that everyone must experience.
You play the game on a field with four squares. These planes contain stationary or moving drawings. This is already nice to look at, but it gets much better if you start sliding the surfaces. Not only do different things happen when you put certain surfaces next to each other, but also when you slide them over each other. You have to experience for yourself what exactly happens, but we have never experienced something like this before.

2. Pokémon GO
Pokémon GO was their first real introduction to augmented reality for many iPhone owners. It is no surprise that developer Niantic chooses to support ARKit. Thanks to ARKit, Pokémon GO’s AR mode is taken to a new level.
Although the game has always had an augmented reality mode, it didn’t mean much. Using your iPhone’s camera, the game made Pokémon float in your living room or garden. Because of this, Niantic wanted to create the illusion that the monsters were really in front of you. With Pokémon GO AR +, this dream comes a big step closer. ARKit is a lot better and more advanced than the old mode.

3. Live Memories
With Live Photos, the iPhone brings your photos to life. By pressing the screen, a short animation of three seconds appears. This shows the one and a half seconds before and the one and a half seconds after you took the photo. This suddenly makes still photos a lot more active, and more fun to look back. To make the latter a lot more accessible, Live Memories has been created, a new app that stitches the short films of your Live Photos together into a video.
The app works very simply: you simply choose the Live Photos that you want to have bundled and Live Memories does the rest. You can choose as many photos as you want, regardless of whether they have something to do with each other. When you have made your choice, choose what kind of overview you want to make: a short video for social media, a video for your Instagram or Snapchat Story or just a video that you want to play on your TV.

4. Google Photos
Whatever you are going to do for Christmas, you are guaranteed to take pictures of it with your iPhone. By uploading it to Google Photos afterwards and creating an album, you can immediately share it with everyone else in attendance. They, in turn, can also drag their Christmas snapshots into the album.
That way, everyone gets the best photos of the Christmas season, without looking at them all in a WhatsApp group one by one. Saving your photos to Google Photos is a good idea anyway. The app gives you unlimited online storage, so you still have all your photos even when your iPhone stops working.
