The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 6 (2018) here.
The 5 best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. However, you will hardly notice this, because only a small part of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
1. Pyeongchang 2018
The official app of the 2018 Winter Olympics. Here you can find an extensive schedule, an overview of the medals and regular updates with images and background information about the Games. If you travel to Pyeongchang yourself, you will also find tips about the city itself here.
The app is not only informative, but also aimed at the real Olympics enthusiast. For example, you can send encouraging messages to live athletes via the app, and use the LED function to conjure up messages on your screen.

2. The Room: Old Sins
In The Room: Old Sins, we return to the mysterious world of one of the most popular iOS puzzle games ever. When the first The Room game came out in 2012, the game turned the App Store upside down. The clever puzzles that The Room fired at you were perfectly controlled by a touchscreen, and really gave the player the feeling that he or she had an influence on the object on the screen.
Six years later, not much has changed with the arrival of The Room: Old Sins. It looks a lot better graphically and gradually the puzzles have become more complex. And that’s great, because The Room: Old Sins is also accessible to players who have never touched a part in the series thanks to a clear explanation.

3. Flitsmeister
The popular Dutch app Flitsmeister has been given a major update. The design has been overhauled, and it is now also possible to navigate with spoken instructions. Because the Flitsmeister app ‘talks’ to you while driving, you (hopefully) have to look at the screen of your iPhone less often.
Perhaps more importantly, the design of the Flitsmeister app has been improved. The application mainly looks a bit clearer, because there is more space for the map. For this, the developers have moved the screens of warnings, speed indicators and travel times in a different place. As a result, the map of Flitsmeister is not covered by information that is slightly less important at that moment.

4. Focos
Focos is a camera app aimed at people with dual camera iPhone. The app makes smart use of how iOS 11 gives apps access to the camera’s data, so you can adjust everything after taking a photo. This way you can put an extra bokeh filter in the background, or remove the depth of field effect.
Initially, the app is simple, but if you dive into the settings, you can indulge yourself as a professional photographer. You can choose between jpg, raw or the new heic format that was introduced in iOS 11. In addition, you will immediately see a preview of a portrait photo, without having to take the photo first.

5. Gymnotize
The App Store is full of fitness apps, but Gymnotize is a special app that makes smart use of ARKit. The app can show you with augmented reality how different exercises work, so that you can see up close how to perform it. By walking around a virtual athlete, you can see from all sides how a specific exercise works.
Of course, a fitness app would not be complete without schedules, and Gymnotize can also be of service to you. The app helps you keep track of what you are doing in the gym and shows you where you can still improve by means of graphs. Moreover, you will never get exhausted, because Gymnotize has enough new exercises to offer for every muscle group.
