The week is over and that means that a fresh app overview is waiting for you! As far as we are concerned, you should not miss these new apps, games and updates. You can find the best iOS apps from week 18 here.
The best iOS apps at a glance
The App Store works overtime every week to handle the never-ending stream of new apps and updates. You don’t notice that much, however, because only a fraction of it is worth installing. If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch can use some new apps, you’ve come to the right place.
Strava
Strava comes with a blogging platform for athletes, on which they can post stories and photos. The new feature is called ‘Athlete Posts’. For the time being you can follow 36 athletes, who in turn can make all kinds of posts. Think of stories, photos, training or tips for workouts. It is a clear step of the app to register more than just a sports performance. Strava wants to make its service a lot more social. The feature is currently exclusive to the 36 athletes selected by Strava.

Apple Clips
Apple’s Clips video app has gotten its first update. The most important improvement is that users can edit the ‘Live Title’ texts after a movie has been recorded. By tapping on the text during playback it is possible to change words. The app needed that, because Clips didn’t always understand what users were saying. The subtitles did not match what was said or crooked sentences were made. If the text is incorrect, you can adjust it yourself from version 1.0.1.

Facebook Messenger
If you want to play a game on your iPhone, you have plenty of choice in the App Store. However, if you want something quick and easy, you can also just open Facebook Messenger. With the Instant Games that are offered there, you start a game directly in a conversation. You can then possibly challenge your conversation partner to improve your score. To play, press the plus sign at the bottom of the screen and then the gamepad during a call.

Chameleon Run
Paid apps are regularly offered for free to encourage people to download the Apple Store app. This week, the entertaining platform game Chameleon Run is available for free download. In the game you run over brightly colored blocks, but only if the figure is the same color. In addition to making breakneck jumps, it is therefore also important to change colors at the right time. This makes Chameleon Run a challenging game, which distinguishes itself from dozens of other running games due to this color mechanism.

Zip Zap
Every week, Apple puts an app from the App Store in the spotlight. The honor this time goes to Zip Zap, a puzzle game with a twist. A literal twist. You are a hinge that moves forward by opening and closing. The goal is to fill in the circle in each puzzle by placing an object in front of it for a few seconds. That is usually the hinge itself, which you hop to its goal by opening and closing. However, it can also be another object, such as a ball.

Pokémon GO
Spring is coming, so Niantic hopes everyone will be back on Pokémon hunting armed with their Pokédex. This weekend, the developer is encouraging that with the Pokémon GO Grass Weekend. During this period, extra grass-type monsters will appear. Good news if you miss some green in your Pokédex. By the way, expect to see more events like this in the coming months to encourage us to complete our Pokédex.
