The New Lockscreen Features in iOS 16 (and They’re Really Fun)

Now that Apple has finally released iOS 16, we also know more about the new features. Perhaps the best features of iOS 16 are in the new lockscreen. We’ll show you what you can do with it and how it works.

New Lockscreen Features in iOS 16

At the WWDC keynote, Apple already showed it: in iOS 16, the lock screen (or lock screen) gets new functions and a fresh design. The best part about this is that from now on you can adjust the design yourself. For example, it is possible to change the colors of the clock and widgets can be placed on the lock screen.

Special photo gallery for the lockscreen

In addition, there is also a special gallery with your own photos and several new backgrounds. Also nice: photos that you have shot in portrait mode can be used in a special way. This gives the lock screen of your iPhone in iOS 16 some more depth. The extra 3D information from the portrait photos is then used by your iPhone to place the numbers of the clock slightly behind your head.
