Do you want to become a Pokémon master in Pokémon GO? Then look no further, because we have some useful tips so that you become the best.
The best Pokémon GO tips
By now you may already have your hands on a decent collection of Pokémon playing Pokémon GO. The game ensures that everyone goes out en masse to hunt for the virtual critters. Still, Pokémon GO lacks something: clear explanations of the different parts of Pokémon catching. In the meantime, we have played ourselves completely silly and offer you guidance with these Pokémon GO tips.
1. Hunt the rare Pokémon
At the bottom right of the screen you can see which Pokémon are near you. By pressing this you will see the creatures in a grid. The footsteps below the pictures of the Pokémon then represent the distance they are from you. More footsteps means further away. However, to hunt them you also have to use the grid itself. If a Pokémon is at the bottom right of the grid, it is far away.
If a Pokémon is at the top left of the grid, the creature is very close. By following the position of your desired Pokémon in the grid as you walk, you slowly get closer and closer. So you can really hunt for the Pokémon you still miss.
2. Use your candy wisely
With every Pokeḿon you catch you get three candies. If you send duplicate Pokémon to the professor, you will receive another candy. But how can you best spend these candies? You have two options: improve your Pokémon and evolve your Pokémon. Since improving your Pokémon only takes one candy and some stardust, it’s tempting to choose that option. Still, you better save candy to evolve your Pokémon. That makes the animal a lot stronger. When evolution is complete, you can still spend candy to reinforce the evolved Pokémon.
3. Fight in your own gyms
In the world you come across gyms. From level 5 you can fight against these locations to take over them. However, don’t forget that you can also do things to help gyms of your own team. You can temporarily leave Pokémon there to make it harder for invaders, but you can fight against the Pokémon of your own team.
This will make the gym stronger. Also, don’t forget that you can get free stuff if you own a gym. For this you have to hold the gym for at least 24 hours, which is not easy. However, if you have done it anyway, you can press the shield at the top in the shop and receive your presents.
4. Fight strategically
Fighting the opponent’s gyms is not easy yet. However, it makes a difference if you know exactly what your options are while fighting. By pressing the screen, you make the Pokémon attack. By swiping, the creature jumps to the side so that an attack from the opponent is avoided. Meanwhile blue cubes fill under the health bar of your Pokémon. Each block represents a special attack. You can fire the special attack by pressing and holding the screen.
Did you win? Then you can often not immediately claim the gym. Because of your profit, only the level of the gym has decreased. So use your items to refresh your Pokémon and go for it one more time.
5. Don’t forget your items
In any case, the use of items is a good tip. For example, you can eat a ‘lucky egg’, which gives you more experience points in the next half hour. It is smart to first save up a series of evolutions, for example from Rattatas or Pidgeys, and carry them out after eating such an egg.
Then you level up faster and you encounter better Pokémon faster. You can also burn incense to lure Pokémon to you, or put a lure module on a Pokéstop to get the bugs there. Don’t forget to use your ‘razz berries’ while fighting, because then catching is a lot easier.
6. Place the eggs in the incubators
In addition to collecting items and Pokémon, you also get Pokémon eggs. These come out by walking distances and you don’t have to worry about them. However, you must first place them in an incubator. The most convenient is that every time an egg hatches, you immediately put a new egg in the incubator. This way you get the most out of your walking time.
7. Go to a different place
Different Pokémon can be found in all kinds of different places. It is therefore smart not to always look in the same place, but also to go out. Who knows what you will encounter. For example, go to a city center for many Pokéstops and then take your bag full of Pokéballs into nature.
8. Save your battery
There are several ways to save your battery while playing. For example, turn on the Battery Saver feature in the settings menu. Turn off the augmented reality element while capturing, because your camera consumes a lot of power. You can of course also dim your screen. If it still doesn’t work out, you can of course also buy a power bank for the extra power.
