Best iOS Games August 2017

Now that the holidays are over, you have more time to kill. Because whether it’s on the train, waiting for the bus or secretly during a meeting: a fun iOS game makes time go faster. Fortunately, there are plenty of beautiful things to play again. We therefore pick the five best new games from the App Store.

1. Technobabylon

Technobabylon is the latest game from the creators of the excellent titles Gemini Rue and Blackwell. This time too it is a cyberpunk adventure game with a strong story and good characters. Technobabylon is set in the year 2087, where an artificial intelligence controls an entire city.

In the game, you take turns taking control of three different characters, who are trying to unravel a secret. It is about a cop who has to save his children, a VR addict and an ex-criminal. You have to take a look at the old-fashioned-looking graphics, because behind it is one of the most interesting narrative games available for iOS.

2. The Elder Scrolls: Legends

In addition to Heartstone, card game The Elder Scrolls: Legends can now also be played on your iOS device. The game is largely the same as Blizzard’s hit game. You place cards with characters on the table, which then have to defeat the opponent’s characters. Legends is striking because you fight on two courts where different rules exist.

Legends has a big story, but the power is of course in the multiplayer. The game does not splash off the screen like Hearthstone in terms of looks, but there is a lot of depth and fun in it.

3. Data Wing

In Data Wing you control a plane that has to maneuver through various difficult courses. You do this by tapping either left or right on the screen. The trick, however, is to use the edges of the course to gain extra momentum.

If you just sand along a wall while accelerating, you will go much faster. This is necessary to fulfill the assignments, such as completing the job within the time limit. It’s a wonderful game, which is also helped by the unique style and story.

4. Cat Quest

Long ago, dragons flew across the land that could only be defeated by cats. You play the kind of cat who doesn’t even know it has this power. However, when his sister is kidnapped, he must find the hero within himself. You do this in a very nice world where there is a lot to discover. Cat Quest is an RPG in which you do assignments, fight and get stronger. The style is great and you can enjoy it for a while.

5. Galaxy or Pen & Paper

Galaxy of Pen & Paper is the sequel to Knights of Pen & Paper and follows the same principle. People role-play with pen and paper, or in this case on a computer, and you play the visual representation of that. Funny thing is that the game is constantly aware of these layers and that is where a lot of humor comes from.

Because this time it is a science fiction story, you can explore the universe with different planets that you are allowed to walk around. Are you looking for an RPG that does things differently, or do you want more of this Pen & Paper series, then you’ve come to the right place.
