November is traditionally the month with the biggest releases of the year. And while 2021 is a relatively sparse gaming year, luckily our controllers don’t have to collect dust this month! We can go to war in Call of Duty: Vanguard and Battlefield 2042, take nostalgic trips in Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and drive through Mexico in the thickest cars in Forza Horizon 5. These are the November 2021 game releases!
Call of Duty: Vanguard (November 5 | PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC)
With Call of Duty: Vanguard, developer Sledgehammer Games returns to World War II in (hopefully) an action-packed rollercoaster full of explosions, gunfire and adrenaline as we’ve come to expect from Call of Duty. In any case, the developer promises that we will visit many iconic places from World War II, so prepare yourself for trips to Normandy, Stalingrad and North Africa!
In addition to the single player campaign, Vanguard also promises to house a total package of multiplayer modes, and that is actually what Call of Duty games are all about. In addition to the well-known multiplayer, you can also enjoy a game of Zombies in Vanguard (that mode is developed by Treyarch). Of course, the current showpiece of the CoD franchise should not be missing, so players can get back to work with Warzone. The battle royale mode will feature cross-play and cross-generation features and a dose of free post-launch content. In short, Call of Duty fans can hopefully have another year of fun with Vanguard!
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition (November 11 | PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Switch)
Twenty years after the release of Grand Theft Auto 3, the time has finally come: on November 11, developer Rockstar will come up with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. A mouth full, but you also get three full games in return. GTA: The Trilogy takes us back to the Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas of arguably three of the best open world games of the turn of the millennium. Relive Claude, Tommy and CJ’s crazy and compelling stories in the bustling cities of yesteryear, polished and well.
Thanks to the completely rebuilt lighting mechanics, improved shadows, textures and characters – which now finally have ten free fingers! – and the ability to instantly restart failed missions will hopefully make GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition feel like a modern set of GTA games. What it won’t be about, in any case, are the controls. They have been overhauled and decorated to the controls as we know them from GTA 5.
From November 11th we can start our nostalgic trips through the fictional New York, Miami and Los Angeles from GTA, but the collectors among us have to be patient a little longer. From December 7, the physical editions of GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will hit the shelves!
Football Manager 2022 (November 9 | Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC)
For the football tacticians among us, Football Manager is the king of footy games every year and in Football Manager 2022, developer Sports Interactive is working hard to make this edition more immersive than ever. All the depth of previous parts returns and so players can go wild again with drawing up the best formation and tactics, building a good youth academy and attracting promising talents. Statistics are the key to success in Football Manager 2022, so the comprehensive Data Hub will come in handy to request specific stats about passing or expected goals from your staff.
Football Manager 2022 also gives players more options when customizing their squad, so we can experiment with new formations and tactical choices. The conversations you have with your players as a manager are also expanded, so keeping your entire squad happy will be a hell of a job. FM 2022 has ostensibly enough to offer the most realistic football manager sim for a year, so let the chase for the Champions League title begin!
Forza Horizon 5 (November 9 | Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC)
According to developer Playground Games, Forza Horizon 5 lets us get ready for a true next-gen experience as we tear through the sun-drenched Mexican landscapes. 4k resolutions and sixty frames per second are all present in the latest installment of the Forza franchise. And if we can believe the first images, then the game will look really beautiful!
With hundreds of cars to choose from, players will brave the rugged landscapes of Mexico as they complete missions, unlock new cars and take on over-the-top challenges alone or with a bunch of mates! And when you’ve had enough of all the content the game has to offer, dive into the Event Lab mode to create your own challenge, races or stunts. No shortage of content!
Forza Horizon 5 promises to be a beautiful racing game full of content, with which every racing fan in possession of an Xbox or PC will enjoy themselves to the fullest. From November 9th we will see if it lives up to expectations!
Battlefield 2042 (November 19 | PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC)
In fact, Battlefield has been through every war setting, so it returns to one of the franchise’s most successful formulas: futuristic warfare. Set in the year, yes, 2042, Battlefield 2042 allows for the first time on consoles with 128 players simultaneously. The dynamically changing and destructible environments are designed to make Battlefield 2042 the most chaotic, large-scale and immersive Battlefield experience ever.
Choose from one of ten Specialists and dive into classic game modes such as Conquest and Breakthrough or take on the brand new Hazard Zone. With a large arsenal of futuristic weapons and gadgets you can at least go wild and discover which loadout suits you best. And whether you do that on land, at sea or in the air, the choice is entirely up to you.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl (November 19 | Switch)
The patience of Pokémon fans will be rewarded this month, as after fifteen years, we can finally return to the wildlife-rich Sinnoh region in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. The remakes of the Nintendo DS games retain many of the features of the original games, such as the classic top-down camera angle. The story is also likely to stay true to the original, so fans of the original titles can get ready for a nostalgic journey through one of the fan-favorite Pokémon regions!
Fortunately, there are also enough innovations in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: the menus are more user-friendly and the battle scenes are designed in the style of the most recent Pokémon games. Nice additions in our opinion, because that makes it just that little bit more fun to look at!
By the way, don’t expect recent Pokémon in Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, because only the Pokémon from the first four generations can be found in Sinnoh. Fortunately, there are plenty of them to fill your Pokédex, so there are no excuses not to bag that Pokémon League title!
The adventure in Sinnoh begins again on November 19, so get ready for the age-old dilemma: Turtwig, Chimchar or Piplup?
