Samsung will provide its Galaxy A41 and M01 with fewer updates: two security patches per year. In addition, support for the Galaxy A6 (2018) will stop after four years of updates, the manufacturer has announced.
Samsung updates
Samsung is coming with a change in the update schedule of its phones. The Galaxy A41 that came on the market in 2020 will now receive two updates per year, just like the Galaxy M01. That notices Android Police on. The phones previously received quarterly updates. In addition, the same policy applies to the Galaxy S10 5G and the A51 5G, but these devices have not been launched in the Netherlands and Belgium. Samsung only launched phones with 5G here from the Galaxy S20 and A52.
Furthermore, support for the Galaxy A6 will stop, which has been following an update plan since 2021 with two updates per year. The Samsung Galaxy A6+ will continue to receive biannual updates. The Samsung Galaxy A6 appeared with an Exynos 7870 chipset. In our review we were enthusiastic about the battery life, but we criticized the performance and the fingerprint scanner.
Textbook example
