The Apple Vision Pro is undoubtedly a technical tour de force and this CT scan gives you an impressive look at the inside.
CT scan of the Vision Pro
Lumafield, a company that makes industrial CT and X-ray scanning software and equipment for designers, has in a blog post compared the inside of the Apple Vision Pro, Meta’s Quest 3 and Quest Pro. This gives you a good idea of how these products are differently organized and designed.
The Vision Pro is a product for which expensive choices have been made, such as angled circuit boards and automatic motorized screen adjustments. Meta’s headsets are designed for mass production with lower costs, so clearly different choices have been made.
It is worth reading the blog post. You can watch the YouTube video below. If we learn anything from this, it’s that there’s plenty of room for Apple to design a headset that costs a lot less to make, with only a few minor compromises to the overall experience.
Apple Vision Pro will not appear here until the end of 2024
The Apple Vision Pro is expected to come to a number of European countries before WWDC. Unfortunately, the Netherlands and Belgium are not among them. Here, the Vision Pro is not expected until the end of 2024 or even the beginning of 2025. Apple focuses first on the large countries, followed later by smaller countries such as the Netherlands and Belgium. Fortunately, the headset is coming a lot closer with France and Germany.
