One of the best features in iOS 13 is the ability to automatically block unknown and anonymous callers. These are automatically forwarded to your voicemail. This is how you enable the function later.

Block unknown callers in iOS 13

iPhone users have been asking for it for years, and with iOS 13, Apple has finally listened. It is possible to automatically send people who are not in your contact list to your voicemail. That way you will not be disturbed by the call, but because the person can leave a message, you will not miss the possibly important message.

This is how you automatically block unknown callers in iOS 13:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone;
  2. Scroll down and tap on ‘Phone’;
  3. Slide the switch for Silence Unknown Callers so that the box turns blue.

From now on, unknown callers will be silenced. Your iPhone will no longer ring but will send the person directly to voicemail, after which you will receive a notification of the missed call. The new function is intended to reduce the number of calls from telemarketers and other people you would rather not speak to.

keep an eye on. Many government agencies, businesses, dentists and hospitals also call anonymously. Of course they will take the trouble to leave a voicemail, but during an urgent situation it is annoying for them that they cannot get hold of you immediately. iOS 13 does not just block all unknown numbers: first your Mail and Messages app is checked to see if the caller is listed.
