This is how you give your Memoji a Santa hat for the holidays

Get your Animoji on your iPhone or iPad ready for the holidays with a Santa hat Memoji. We explain how to do that and how to share the Memoji with acquaintances.

These iPhone’s and iPad’s are suitable

Supported iPhone and iPad with iOS 13 allow you to create a personalized Animoji character. Apple calls this a Memoji. Such a Memoji can look like you or completely different, just what you want. In either case, the character imitates your movements and facial expressions, just like an Animoji. To make a (Christmas) Memoji, you need one of the devices below with Face ID. This is how you give your Memoji a Santa hat for the holidays

Make your Santa hat Memoji

With a suitable iPhone or iPad you first make a Memoji. You do that as follows:

  1. Open the Messages app;
  2. Choose a chat conversation;
  3. Tap the Animoji icon above the keyboard;
  4. Swipe to the right and tap the plus sign with ‘New Memoji’;
  5. Follow the steps on the screen to create a Memoji.

When your Memoji is ready, add the Santa hat. To do this, go to the ‘Headwear’ category and scroll down. At the very bottom is the Santa hat, although chances are you won’t recognize it immediately.

Click on the hat and give it a color of your choice. The iconic red is one of the colors you can choose from, where you even determine the intensity via the slider. Save the hat via the button at the top right of your screen and your Memoji with Santa hat is ready for the holidays.

Make a Memoji sticker with Santa hat

With iOS 12 you can share the Santa or Santa Claus in yourself with various Apple apps. In this article we explain in four steps how to share an Animoji or Memoji in FaceTime. It is also possible to share a character via iMessage.

Since iOS 13, it is also possible to make a Memoji sticker. This one also works on iPhones that don’t have a Face ID camera, as long as it’s running on iOS 13. These stickers are processed in your keyboard, so you can send them in any app. Consider, for example, chat apps such as Telegram and WhatsApp. In the video below we explain exactly how making these Animoji stickers works.
