If you are looking for a new laptop, that choice can quickly be overwhelming due to the enormous selection. In addition, many models are also available in multiple configurations and that does not make things any easier. Which company makes the best laptops? According to the annual top list from the leading Laptop Mag, the answer is clear: ASUS.
It is the first time that ASUS has been awarded the title of best laptop builder. Laptop Mag believes the company’s laptops are both powerful and innovative. The magazine is also pleased with the design, as well as with the wide range, from Chromebooks to gaming laptops. But Laptop Mag is not happy with everything. For example, the technical support of ASUS leaves something to be desired. And that is desirable if you buy an expensive laptop and run into problems.
Laptop manufacturers are assessed by Laptop Mag on various points, namely the reviews of their laptops, design, technical support, warranty, innovation and offer. ASUS scored 88 points out of 100. The laptop builder outperformed Dell and HP, who took second and third place with 85 and 82 points respectively.
ROG Zephyrus G14
One of the laptops that ASUS scored well with this year was the ROG Zephyrus G14. It is the first laptop with an AMD Ryzen 9 chip (4900HS), the long-awaited AMD processor that would be better than the Intel Core i7 and i9 chips in very expensive laptops. ASUS also released a laptop with two screens this year. Building on the success of the ZenBook Pro 14 and the updated ZenBook Pro Duo, ASUS came out with the ROG Zephyrus Duo 15, a laptop with a 15-inch screen and a 14.1-inch touchscreen. The laptop was not to everyone’s taste, also because of the high price (this laptop even costs 3,700 euros) and the lack of a webcam, in addition to a limited number of USB-C ports and the heavy weight.
