At the Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11, Samsung will present several new products. In the run-up to the event, some products already leaked out. What can we expect from Galaxy Unpacked?
Evan Blass, who often leaks products before they are announced, already showed some images of new smartphones on Twitter. Samsung has now announced that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will indeed be presented at the event. The folding phone shows many similarities with its predecessor, the Z Flip 5G, but seems to be somewhat larger.
Galaxy Z Fold 3
In addition to the Flip, Samsung is also working on the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which, unlike the Flip, you do not close, but fold. Not much is known about this either, but images show that the phone will be available in at least three colors (black, silver and dark green) and that there are three cameras on the back of the device.
According to other sources, the phone will have a 7.5-inch AMOLD screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz, while the screen on the outside of the device will be 6.2 inches. The selfie camera is tucked away under the screen. The Fold 3 would be slightly smaller than the predecessor. The phone will also support the S Pen.
Fan Edition
Samsung may also reveal a successor to the Galaxy S20 FE during the Galaxy Unpacked. The phone is called a Fan Edition (FE) of the S20 and is in fact a cheaper version with less good cameras and slightly lighter hardware. Still, we couldn’t recommend the original phone at the time. Hopefully, Samsung will pick up on some of the criticisms for the Galaxy S21 FE.
smartwatches
It is obvious that we will also see new smartwatches from Samsung. Blass posted on Twitter photos of watches that are suspected to be released under the name Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and Galaxy Watch 4 Active. Various sources state that the suggested retail price of the Classic can be between 470 and 500 euros for the 42 mm model. The 44 mm model will probably have a price tag of 500 to 530 euros, which is significantly more than the prices of the current model.
Samsung hasn’t revealed much about the watches yet, only that they will likely run the new One UI Watch interface. This software ensures, among other things, that apps load faster and that sensor measurements become more accurate.
Galaxy Buds
Finally, Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Buds 2 in the colors light green, lilac and white, according to Blass. The earbuds can presumably be connected to multiple devices at the same time. Should Samsung build on the features of the Buds Pro, they will support active noise cancellation and be water resistant, among other things.
