This makes Microsoft Outlook for iOS a lot more interesting

Microsoft has given Outlook for iOS a handy update that suddenly gives the app with Outlook add-ins a lot of new functions.

Outlook add-ins

Microsoft is expanding the Outlook app for iOS in one go with a lot of new functions. This is possible because the giant with household names like Giphy, Trello and Evernote has teamed up to put their functions in the email app. This makes the app more versatile, easier and more fun. The apps are called add-ins and are an interesting way to make Outlook relevant again in 2017. Microsoft knows how to distinguish itself from the rest in this way.

The add-ins can be found via a new button when reading an email. This button resembles four small squares, one of which is slightly slanted. If you press the button, you can choose, among other things, to respond directly to the e-mail with a gif from the Giphy database, or to send the e-mail to Evernote and save it there. For example, you can also translate an email with Translator, an add-in from Microsoft itself. You can use all of these apps without leaving the Outlook app.

The add-ins were previously available for Mac and Windows and now they can also be used on iOS. Android will get the feature at a later date. The new features are currently only available to people using Office 365. Microsoft will also slowly roll out the add-ins to Outlook.com users. To use the add-ons, you must first activate them in the menu by choosing which apps you want to see.
