Do you often send photos via the Messages app? Then check this tip, because it can be done a lot faster these days!
Send photos in Messages
You’ve probably been sending photos in the Messages app the same way for a long time. Logical, because for a long time it was the only way. But sometimes Apple suddenly adds a trick. And that was the case with iOS 17.
Normally you send a photo by tapping the plus sign at the bottom left in a conversation with someone and then choosing ‘Photos’. Or possibly ‘Camera’ if you want to take a photo on the spot first. You may think that this cannot be done any faster, but that is not true.
Send photos faster in Messages
If you have installed iOS 17, it is possible to send photos even faster in the Messages app. It is as simple as it is effective, but of course you need to know it. Try it out right away:
Open the conversation in which you want to send a photo. Instead of tapping the plus sign at the bottom left, now press and hold the plus sign. You will see that instead of the drop-down menu you are used to, your photo gallery will now open directly. Then it’s just a matter of choosing photos and sending them. It couldn’t be faster!
It doesn’t work in WhatsApp
Sending photos in WhatsApp is actually the same as in Messages. But the trick that Apple added in iOS 17 unfortunately does not work in WhatsApp. You can hold down the plus sign there as long as you want, nothing will happen. But we wouldn’t be surprised if WhatsApp adds this feature in a next update!
