Apple TV+ has confirmed that the streaming service will be free for everyone this coming weekend. During the weekend of January 3 to 5, 2025, everyone can stream all Apple Originals without a subscription.
The free weekend promotion will of course increase the awareness of Apple TV+. The start of the new year is also the ideal time for it, with major launches such as Severance season two which starts later this month.

Recent Apple Originals you may not have seen yet include the second season of the dark comedy Bad Sistersthe horror thriller Before with Billy Crystal and the new films Blitz and Fly Me to the Moon. The controversial science fiction series Silo is already working on its second season. All in all, it is more than you can watch in one weekend and that is of course exactly the intention.
Apple TV+ starts 2025 with a better collection than ever (over 250 original TV shows and movies in total). A whole range of attractive new titles have also been announced. However, Apple TV+ has not yet managed to attract many viewers. Apple itself does not release figures, but in 2024 only a handful of Apple Originals ended up in the American Nielsen streaming charts.
