Weather apps come in all shapes and sizes, but Tinyclouds knows how to distinguish itself from the rest thanks to the fresh design and useful functions. Is this your new favorite weather app?
Tinyclouds: A new original weather app
Tinyclouds is essentially a very simple weather app for one euro. The app shows the current weather forecast, provides a forecast for the rest of the day and for the rest of the week. What sets Tinyclouds apart from the handful of competing weather apps is its original design. The first thing you see when you open the app is a 3D animation of a city, which continuously adapts to the weather.
For example, you can see thick clouds over the city when there is real cloud on the way, the streets are white with snow when it snows outside and so on. Instead of looking at a number, with Tinyclouds you can see what the weather is and will be in a glance at this digital city. The app adapts to your location, and you can also add multiple locations to quickly switch between different weather forecasts.
This cartoonish city fills most of your screen, a small bar at the bottom of the screen shows your location and the temperature. Swipe it up for a more comprehensive weather overview. Tinyclouds pulls all the weather information from Dark Sky, a service that has long been considered one of the most reliable sources when it comes to weather information.
Nice to watch
If you’re looking for a weather app with extensive statistics and a wide range of features, there are better alternatives in the App Store. Tinyclouds especially wants to make it fun to watch the weather, something the app succeeds in thanks to the colorful city.
It is a pity that this city is always the same, so large skyscrapers also appear on your screen if you live in a small village. Still, we can recommend Tinyclouds to anyone who wants something different from dry figures and weather statistics. In addition to the iPhone and iPad version, a Mac app will also be released soon.
