Want to use your phone safely behind the wheel? This is possible with Apple CarPlay. The platform ensures that you can use the most important functions of your smartphone – such as calling, navigating and playing music – on the go, without taking your hands off the wheel. This way you have your favorite apps quickly at hand. In this tip, you can read how to arrange the Apple CarPlay screen as you wish.

Change order of CarPlay apps

  1. Open ‘Settings’ on your iPhone

  2. Go to ‘General’

  3. Tap ‘Carplay’

  4. Select your car or entertainment system from the list

  5. Choose the option ‘Customize’

    You can now rearrange the order of the apps by holding your finger on the three horizontal stripes and dragging the to the desired position.

Are you still missing some apps in Apple CarPlay? Or are there just a few unnecessary applications? After following steps one to four it is also possible to add new apps or hide current ones. Tap the red button to delete an app. At the bottom of the overview you will find the apps that are not yet in use. You can easily add this to CarPlay by tapping the green button. It is not possible to hide some default apps by road. This applies, for example, to Apple’s Maps app.
