You know it: the sound of your Mac is too quiet, but if you turn up the volume a little, it is actually too loud again. In this tip, we show a trick with which you can adjust the sound, but also the brightness more precisely.
Adjust Mac brightness: that’s how it works
The Mac (Book) shows with blocks how high you have the system volume or the brightness of the screen. Sometimes it happens that the difference between one block is actually too big, and it would be more convenient to sit a little in between. What you may not have known is that macOS includes an option by default that allows you to control volume or brightness more precisely. You do not have to dive into the settings for this, but only use a key combination.
Hold the keys Shift + Option (alt) and then tap the volume or brightness button. It also works with the buttons to adjust the exposure of your keyboard.
As you can see in the hud (heads-up display), you adjust the sound or brightness in smaller steps. This way you can determine more precisely which volume or brightness setting you prefer.
