Listening to music together or watching a movie with a set of AirPods? By adjusting a setting, you can both hear everything with just one earbud in.
This way you can share AirPods with someone else
Of course you can just give an AirPod to someone else and listen to music at the same time. The problem in that case is that AirPods provide stereo sound by default, so the left earbud produces a different sound than the right one.
Fortunately, you can quickly fix this by changing the sound settings from stereo to mono. You do that as follows.
- Open the Settings app;
- Tap on ‘General’;
- Choose ‘Accessibility’;
- Set the switch behind ‘Mono sound’ to green.
Once you do this, the two AirPods will emit exactly the same sound, making them a lot better suited for sharing with someone else. This tip can of course also be used for other earbuds, but because AirPods don’t have a cable, they are a lot better suited to exchange them with someone else.
Bonus tip: don’t forget to switch the mono sound to stereo once you have finished sharing the earbuds. In stereo, your sound will sound a lot fuller and better. You do this by going through the above settings again. Looking for more useful tips for your AirPods? Then you are there iPhone at the right place.
