AirDrop is the fastest way to transfer files between Macs and iPhones and iPads. With a small adjustment you can make AirDrop work even faster for you. We explain.
This is how you create an AirDrop Dock icon on your Mac
Whether you want to share photos, videos or other files with other Apple devices nearby, AirDrop is the easiest and fastest way to do this. The wireless technology transfers files between Apple devices, so that you can, for example, send a photo from your iPhone to your iMac or MacBook with the push of a button.
If you regularly share files this way, adding AirDrop to your Mac’s Dock can work well. That way, the function is always nearby, and you can activate it immediately. Funnily enough, this option is well hidden, but you can easily find it if you follow the steps below.
This is how you add AirDrop to the Mac Dock
- Open the Finder on your Mac;
- Enter ‘Finder’ in the search bar and search ‘This Mac’;
- Right-click on the Finder icon in the search results;
- Click on ‘Show package contents’;
- Click on ‘Contents’ and choose ‘Applications’;
- In the next window, drag AirDrop to the Dock.
If you want to share multiple files with AirDrop from now on, simply click the icon in the Dock and drag all files into the window that appears at that moment. Do you want to know more about the different files you can share this way? Check the tip below.
