Tip: this is how you can zoom in the image on your Apple Watch

Not only the iPhone and iPad are bursting with Accessibility features. The Apple Watch can also be adapted for disabled people. With the zoom function, all information is visible on your watch. That is how it works.

This is how you zoom in on your Apple Watch

The screen of the Apple Watch is relatively small. Nevertheless, you can put a lot of information on it. This is not always ideal for the visually impaired. Fortunately, Apple has a solution for this in the form of a zoom function. This way you can zoom in on the screen as far as necessary. The mode is easy to activate.

  1. Open Settings on your Apple Watch or go to the ‘My Watch’ tab in the Watch app on your iPhone;
  2. Tap on ‘General’;
  3. Select the ‘Accessibility’ menu;
  4. Tap ‘Zoom’ on your Watch or ‘Zoom in’ on your iPhone;
  5. Slide the switch to green.

If you activate the function from the Watch app on your iPhone, you can then also indicate how much your smart watch should zoom in. By default, this option is set to 5x zoom, which is usually enough to enlarge small text or widgets enough.

You can use the zoom by tapping the screen of your watch twice with two fingers. You can then navigate the zoomed image in two ways: move two fingers across the screen or by turning the Digital Crown. Do you want to zoom out again? Then double-tap the Apple Watch again with two fingers at the same time.

Accessibility tips

In addition to the zoom function, there are other ways in which you can set the Apple Watch to you. For example, you can set the watch for left-handed people so that it fits nicer.

Also useful is that you do not always have to enter the access code when you put on the watch again. Unlocking your Apple Watch with your iPhone is just as easy. Also read our guide on how to use Apple devices with a visual impairment.
