From now on you can use the app. Don’t see the program? Then try looking for it via Spotlight. As soon as you have opened the News app you will immediately see an advertisement. For $ 9.99 a month, you can read Apple News Plus, a kind of Blendle competitor.

This Apple service has hundreds of (English) magazines such as National Geographic and Vogue in its range, lets you store articles offline and also renowned newspapers offer their articles, such as The Wall Street Journal. You also get access to the archive. This also allows you to read previously published editions of participating titles.

Read Apple News on Mac

Do you prefer to read long articles on your Mac (Book)? I don’t blame you. This is how you read Apple News (Plus) on the Mac:

  1. Open the Finder and click on ‘Programs’;
  2. Search for ‘Apple News’ in the bar;
  3. Open the program by double clicking on it.

So it is not necessary to adjust your settings on the Mac. This does mean that not all functions are available. After all, the app and the paid subscription are not yet officially available in the Netherlands.

For the avid reader

Are you reluctant to adjust your region, or is the Apple News offering disappointing? Then take a look at the competitors. For example, Blendle Premium compiles a daily overview of the best articles from (Dutch) newspapers, magazines and news magazines. Readly also offers a similar ‘all you can read’ subscription, but only for magazines.
