Tip: This way you get films and series away from ‘See further’ on Netflix

On the main page of Netflix you will not only see recommendations for films and series, but also shows that you can watch even further. In this article, we’ll explain how to get those titles out of there.

Netflix Delete Continue Watching

There’s nothing wrong with Netflix’s ‘Continue watching for…’ feature. Are you following a series? Then from here you can immediately play the next episode without having to search for where you left off. Movies that you have dropped off halfway through also remain here, so that you can continue watching immediately next time.

But what if a series has become incredibly boring mid-season, and you prefer to watch a different show? At that moment, ‘Looking further’ quickly becomes annoying, because you have already dropped out. To make sure that your home screen is not overcrowded with unfinished films and series, use the following trick. This is how you remove films and series from ‘Continue watching’:

  1. Go to Netflix.com in your browser;
  2. Log in and choose your account
  3. Tap the menu at the bottom right and choose ‘Account’;
  4. Scroll all the way down and press ‘Viewing activity’;
  5. Here are all the films and series that you have watched on Netflix, with the most recent titles at the top;
  6. Tap the icon next to it to delete the title. To delete the entire show (including all episodes), tap ‘Hide series’.

This works the same on your iPad. If you are going to delete a lot of films and series, it might be better to use your Mac. The same instructions also apply here.

Get everything out of Netflix

After you have removed the films and series, it can take up to 24 hours before your ‘Continue watching’ screen is cleared. Unfortunately, it is not (yet) possible to hide titles in the Netflix app, because that would be a lot easier.
